right about us
the great minds of my generation
were few
as you suggested maybe
it was the television
or the chemicals
in our food
there is no forgetting
that baffled look
as you sat in the center
of a circle of us
Sugar Tobey was born in Coney Island, Brooklyn. Received a degree from the School of Visual Art in Manhattan. Now lives in NYC above a pizza parlor.
His lap was grander rthan young not yet epiphanies that we shared to earn that beautific grin. And he graciously accepted the scrawled sheets of vellum we shyly snuck in fis hands. He was a young writer once and Sinclair smiled at him. He passed it on with cymbals and bowls of rice.
